Energy Resources responds to natural gas line incident on Eastern Avenue

Energy Resources responded on May 29 to a natural gas incident in the area of the 800 block of Eastern Avenue, where a gas line was struck earlier in the day.

Crews from Energy Resources and the City of Rocky Mount Fire Department arrived at the scene. The damaged gas line has been shut off, and officials said there is no threat to the community at this time.

Currently, one customer is without natural gas service while crews work to safely restore service. Residents are advised to use caution in the area while crews complete their work.

No injuries or additional disruptions have been reported.
