The Imperial Centre for the Arts and Sciences announced on June 4 that it will offer summer art camps in 2026, partnering with volunteer teaching artists to provide creative opportunities for young participants. The camps are designed to inspire creativity, encourage self-expression, and offer hands-on learning experiences for children interested in painting, drawing, crafting, and exploring new artistic techniques.
According to the announcement, each camp session costs $25 per child and is limited to 12 participants. Parents or guardians are asked to select only one session per child. Morning sessions are available for ages 8-10 years from 10:00 a.m. to noon, while afternoon sessions cater to ages 11-13 years from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m.
The first week of camps runs from July 20 through July 24 with “Art Explorers I” in the morning and “Artful Adventures I” in the afternoon. The second week is scheduled from July 27 through July 31 with “Art Explorers II” offered in the morning and “Artful Adventures II” in the afternoon.
No prior experience is required for participation. All necessary art supplies will be provided by the centre, and a snack will be served each day. Each day, students will meet a new teaching artist and create works of art using various mediums and techniques that they can take home at the end of their session.
To enroll a child in one of these sessions, parents must register online or by phone, pay the class fee, complete an application form, and sign a waiver. Application forms can also be picked up at the front desk of Imperial Centre.
