A new bill filed by State Rep. Allen Chesser in the North Carolina House seeks to ensure public funds support domestically made flags by setting purchase requirements for state institutions and political subdivisions, according to the North Carolina State House.

In essence, this bill mandates that state institutions and political subdivisions in North Carolina cannot use public funds to buy flags of the United States or the state unless these flags are entirely produced in the United States from materials that are also wholly sourced or manufactured within the country.
