City of Rocky Mount issued the following announcement on Oct. 24.

"Fostering Innovation and Finding Economic Capital - Ask the Experts"

Join NCER and Jan Davis, David Gardner, and Ashish Sagrolikar as they answer your questions about fostering innovation and finding capital, especially early-stage funding. Whether your organization is a startup or a well-established business, this panel of experts will share their experiences and provide various approaches that may assist your organization!

Jan Davis is an active board member of companies in software, analytics, marketing, tech-enabled services; including the Boards of Directors of epifany, SEAL Innovation, and ShowingTime.com; and the Boards of Advisors of multiple companies. She is an investor in Triangle Angel Partners, chair of the Investment Committee of The Launch Place Seed Fund, on the Screening Committee for the Carolina Angel Network and has been an Entrepreneur in Residence for the Blackstone Entrepreneurs Network and the Shuford Program in  Entrepreneurship at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. She was previously the CEO of Shopper Trak.

David Gardner is a serial entrepreneur, writer, adviser, and early-stage  fund manager with over thirty years of experience in creating and building software technology companies. After failing at retirement twice, David became the Triangle's most active angel investor spending his time as a volunteer coach and mentor to startup founders and managing a free accelerator he sponsors with the Town of Cary. To combat the lack of early-stage capital in NC, David created and runs Cofounders Capital, a $12M seed fund, the success of which led to a second $30M fund.

Ashish Sangrolikar is an investor and a business executive with more than 25 years of global experience in healthcare and technology space. He currently serves as the Executive Vice President and Chief Commercial Officer at Zogenix Inc, a biopharmaceutical company that provides transformative therapeutic solutions for rare diseases. Previously he has held senior management roles at Baxter Healthcare and GSK in commercial & business development areas.  Ashish is passionate about entrepreneurship and developing new ideas in technology and healthcare sector. He is an active angel investor and works closely with many early-stage companies in the RTP and San Francisco bay area. He is also a member of the Triangle Angel Partners (TAP) and serves on their executive committee. TAP is RTP based angel group that invests in and mentors early-stage companies and entrepreneurs. Ashish is a pharmacist by training and has earned his MBA at the Institute of Management Development (IMD) in Lausanne, Switzerland.
