Republican Secretary of State candidate E.C. Sykes praised Majority Leader John Bell (R-Greene) for his endorsement in a Facebook post.
"Rep. John Bell has been a tireless advocate for the citizens of this state, especially those in Eastern North Carolina," Sykes said in his Facebook post on July 23. "I am pleased to announce his endorsement and I look forward to working with him towards victory in November and then within the halls of the General Assembly to pass business-minded legislation to help all North Carolinians."
In his support of Sykes, Bell said he was "proud to give his full endorsement" to the Republican Secretary of State candidate, a July 23 news release from Sykes said.
"His successful background in business is exactly what we need right now during these challenging times,” Bell said in the statement. “Now more than ever, we need an effective and proven leader as our Secretary of State who will work with the General Assembly to help North Carolina come out of this crisis stronger.”
