40 percent of applicants to Barton College were admitted for fall 2018

At Barton College, 83 percent of undergraduate students are traditional students - age 24 or younger - and 63 percent are female, according to the latest disclosure from the U.S. Department of Education.

The four-year private not-for-profit institution in Wilson enrolled 1,059 students in fall 2018, including 976 in undergraduate and 83 in graduate programs, data shows. 10.3 percent of undergraduates transferred from another college or university.

64 percent of undergraduates are residents of North Carolina, and 32 percent are residents of other states. 4 percent are citizens of foreign countries.

The undergraduate student body is comprised mostly of students who identify as white (56 percent) and Black or African American (21 percent).

The school admitted 40 percent of the 3,486 students who applied for fall 2018. Of those who were admitted, 20 percent enrolled.
