Cost of college went up for all students at Barton College

Tuition and fees rose 2.9 percent for 2018-19 at Barton College, according to recent data from the U.S. Department of Education.

North Carolina students paid $30,880 to attend the four-year private not-for-profit institution this year – $882 more than the $29,998 charged for 2017-18.

Data shows 99 percent of full-time undergraduates who started school in 2015-16 received student financial aid in some form. In all, 196 students received grants or scholarships totaling $4.2 million and 160 students took out student loans totaling more than $1.1 million.

Including all undergraduates (1,059), 871 students used grants or scholarships totaling $16.1 million, and 663 students took out $4.9 million in federal student loans.
