Edgecombe County issued the following announcement on Sept. 16.
Notice is hereby given that a Public Hearing will be held on Monday, October 4, 2021 at 7:00 PM in the Carmon Auditorium of the County Administration Building located at 201 St. Andrew Street, Tarboro, North Carolina. The purpose of this public hearing is to consider and act on proposed amendments in the following portions of Chapter 4 Article II of the County Ordinances: Section 4-34 “Animal Shelter”; Section 4-41 “Mistreatment of Animals Unlawful”; as well as sections of Article III “Inherently Dangerous Animals”.
Due to the COVID-19 Pandemic, the October 4, 2021 Commissioners meeting will be limited to no more than 20 attendees, not including Board members, staff and scheduled guests. Those who would like to speak on this issue must sign up in advance by calling Frangie Mungo, Clerk to the Board, at (252) 641-7834 no later than Monday, October 4th at 5 PM.
The public is also encouraged to submit public comments on this matter via email to publiccomments@edgecombeco.com by 5:00 p.m. on Monday, October 4, 2021. Public comments on this matter may also be submitted by mail addressed to Eric Evans, County Manager, P.O. Box 10, Tarboro, NC 27886. All public comments submitted by 5:00 p.m. on October 4th, will be read at the Board of Commissioners Meeting.
The public is also encouraged to listen to the meeting by calling 1-929-205-6099 and entering 838-4930-7740 as the meeting ID and 604251 as the passcode.
All parties interested are invited and urged to be make their views known. Anyone with a physical limitation or language barrier that will need special accommodations at the public hearing should call (252) 641-7834 at least 48 hours prior to the meeting.
