County Manager Selects New Human Resources Director

Edgecombe County issued the following announcement on Oct. 28.

Eric Evans, Edgecombe County Manager, is happy to announce the selection of Veronica Hill as the County’s new Human Resources Director. Mrs. Hill will lead the office responsible for planning, directing and implementing the County's human resources and personnel processes. In that role, she will provide various human resource functions for the County’s 550 employees.

Mrs. Hill has been with Edgecombe County for over fourteen years. She started as an Accounting Technician, and then was later promoted to our Payroll Administrator position, where she has served for three years. 

“Veronica is such a dedicated employee and a wonderful person”, said Eric Evans, County Manager. “I’m so very excited about her promotion, and I know she will do a great job.”

Deputy County Manager, Mrs. Natalie Bess, has been serving as the interim HR Director. Mrs. Bess stated, “Veronica has been a valuable member of our team as Payroll Administrator, and I look forward to working with her in her new role as HR Director. She is committed to serving the employees of our County and will play a significant role in moving our County forward.”.

Mrs. Hill is from Rocky Mount, NC. She’s been married to James Hill for 30 years, and they have two children. Mrs. Hill stated “I have been employed as an Edgecombe County employee since March 2007.  This employment has given me such pride in a job with friendly co-workers, opportunities, and a good working environment. I am very delighted to have the opportunity to serve as Human Resources Director and representative for Edgecombe County.”
