City of Rocky Mount recently issued the following announcement.
The Rocky Mount Area Youth Council (RMAYC) is a state chartered organization which is composed of area high school students. It is designed to serve, listen to and respect local youth in all matters of civic interest and need.
Attention Area High School Students in Nash & Edgecombe Counties! If you are in grades 9 through 12 and would like to be a part of an organization that allows you to:
*work with existing youth programs and groups to create better total programming in the Rocky Mount area
*serve as a line of communication between youth and adults
*serve as an advisory committee on youth affairs to local government
*initiate, organize and supervise programs and projects of all types, which will benefit youth, then please contact the City of Rocky Mount's Human Relations Department for membership details by calling 252-972-1184.
