Edgecombe County issued the following announcement on Dec. 28.
Eric Evans, Edgecombe County Manager, is happy to announce the selection of Jayson Webb as the County’s new Chief Information Officer. Mr. Webb will lead the Information Technology office which is responsible for the County’s data and networking systems. In that role, he will lead the team that’s responsible for the County’s technology operations, communications infrastructure, and network security for an IT system with nearly 550 end-users.
Mr. Webb has been with Edgecombe County for eight years. He started as a Network Administrator, pursued training and multiple certifications, and gained a great deal of knowledge, which has prepared him for this position.
“Jayson had the opportunity to serve as the Interim in that position for a few months”, said Eric Evans, County Manager. “He has shown that he is ready for this new role, and I know he will do a great job.”
Mr. Webb is an Edgecombe County native. He and his wife Robin Barbour-Webb live in Tarboro, NC. Mr. Webb stated “This is something I have been working towards since joining Edgecombe County, and I am very grateful for the opportunity and look forward to the challenges it will bring”.
