County of Edgecombe issued the following announcement on Jan. 7.
Mark Walters, Emergency Services Director, and his staff accept a resolution of recognition from the Board of Commissioners on behalf of the agencies and officials who responded to the QVC fire. Presenting is Commissioner Ralph Webb.
In the midst of this tragedy, we are inspired by the brave work and collaborative effort of the nearly 100 responding agencies, including 74 fire departments, three EMS agencies, the NC Forestry Service with nine offices responding, our own Emergency Services Team, Sheriff Clee Atkinson and his staff, and the many other support organizations and officials.
