Nash County Sheriff's Office issued the following announcement on Mar. 6.

As you know, Nash County Sheriff Keith Stone is all about extending the training of our employees and counting on the local, state, and national networking to ensure our employees receive advanced and real life training. 

Sheriff Keith Stone was able to utilize his networking abilities to secure seats for the 

2022 Female Involvement In Violent Encounters (F.I.V.E.) - Enhanced "Vehicle Operations.�

This female-driven course is one in a 3-part series of enhanced F.I.VE. training evolutions. It is specifically designed to outline the circumstances in which High-Risk Traffic Stops and Felony Stops should be conducted, and how the tactic should be executed under varying circumstances. 

This course will also outline the ballistic limitations of a police vehicle when it is used for cover, develop skills related to deploying from a vehicle when in a threat situation, positioning for maximum effectiveness when using a vehicle for cover, counter-assault techniques and other protective movements when under fire, and coordinated vehicle assault and clearing procedures. 

Our very own Deputy India Shearin, Deputy Brandi Burden, Deputy Abigail Taylor attended this advanced training Miami, Florida. 

The Miami-Dade Public Safety Training Institute hosted the training and we were among several national law enforcement agencies attending the training.
