Edgecombe Community College faculty, staff, and students and the public honored veterans during the college’s annual Veterans Day Memorial and Recognition Ceremony held November 11. Jeremy Hetrick, retired Army, gave the keynote address, noting the high rate of suicide among military veterans. While veterans represent less than 10% of the U.S. population, one-fourth of all suicide victims in America are veterans, he said, advocating the Veterans Crisis Line, dial 988.
