Important Notice From CSX Re: Temporary Railroad Crossing Closures in Tarboro!
CSX Transportation has recently announced a track maintenance project set to begin Sunday, January 22nd, 2023. This project will include the laying of new rail including in Tarboro.
The impacted crossings will be at Cedar St. and W. Howard Ave. where both cross Albemarle Ave.
It will be a 1-week project that will begin on 1/22/23 and end on/around 1/28/23. These dates are the best approximation CSX can provide at this time. These dates are highly subject to change with or without notice due to many of the unforeseen circumstances that can occur in the field once the work begins. Crossings will be closed anywhere from 3-5 days, depending on the type of maintenance they are set to receive.
