01/17/2023 Edgecombe County Sheriff's Deputies received information about a dirtbike stolen on 01/16/2023 being sold on the Facebook marketplace.
The account used to list the items was fraudulent. Deputies surged on 341 Faith Baptist Church Road, Pinetops. The stolen dirtbike was located and recovered. Also, a stolen Glock 21 handgun was recovered and 6.4 grams of cocaine was located.
Dentavis Staton (04/28/2004) and Taeshawn Gunter (04/29/04) were arrested without incident. Staton was charged with Possession of stolen a firearm, PWISD Cocaine, and Maintaining a vehicle or dwelling place and received a $75,000 secured bond. Gunter was charged with Felony possession of stolen goods and received a $15,000 secured bond.
