Donald Parrish, a Plant Operations Maintenance Section Leader at Wilson Medical Center, has been recognized as the Employee of the Month. This accolade comes as Parrish marks his 26th year with the organization.
Parrish shared his thoughts on his work environment: “I love working here because it is a joy to hear a patient in the room saying that everyone treated them well and made them feel better. That’s what we’re here for. The patients are No. 1.”
Residing in Lucama with his wife Gail, whom he has been married to for 23 years, Parrish enjoys spending time with their children and grandchildren. A dedicated fan of the UNC Tar Heels basketball program, he also likes traveling with family and staying fit during his free time.
Colleagues at Wilson Medical Center have praised Parrish's dedication: “Donald is one who is passionate about his work. He cares for the staff and community that he serves. He knows the hospital building, all the systems, and works hard to keep them operating at all hours of the day to help provide a great patient experience. He leads by example in the Plant Operations Department. Wilson Medical Center is so lucky to have his years of experience.”
