Wilson Medical Center has appointed Jennifer Sherrod, RN, as its first Lung Nodule Nurse Navigator. In this new position, Sherrod will act as the main contact for patients with lung nodules, helping to track follow-up care and coordinate necessary scans and treatments. She will also organize discussions among various medical specialists and lead patient education efforts.
“Jennifer’s role will be critical in the implementation and success of our Lung Nodule Program,” said Dr. Binav Shrestha, a pulmonologist at Wilson Medical Center. “I am confident that with her leadership, patients will have a trusted and experienced guidance throughout their time in our program.”
Sherrod is a native of Wilson and has been a registered nurse for 12 years. Her experience includes work in orthopedics, pediatrics, family medicine, pre-op/PACU nursing, emergency medicine, occupational health, case management, and clinical education—all at Wilson Medical Center.
