Micaela Whoolery, a registered nurse and certified diabetes care and education specialist at Wilson Medical Center, has been named the Employee of the Month for February. She is about to mark her 24th year with the medical center.
Whoolery expressed her passion for nursing, saying, “I became a nurse because I enjoy helping others. My favorite times are when I receive a call from a patient and they are excited to share their A1C is at target. Knowing I was able to enable them to self-manage their diabetes is such a blessing.”
Residing in Nashville with her family, Whoolery balances her professional life with personal commitments. She is actively involved in Pennies From Angels, serving as a board member for the organization that supports cancer patients and their families. Additionally, she leads the hospital's Diabetes Support Group.
Her colleagues at Wilson Medical Center commend her dedication: “Micaela demonstrates dedication and compassion in her work with diabetic patients. She is committed to patient care, finding resources and empowering patients with their treatment plans.”
